3D reconstruction computerized tomography findings of an asymptomatic Eagle’s Syndrome patient: a case report

چکیده
Introduction Eagle’s Syndrome (ES) is a condition caused by the elongation and ossification of the styloid process, and the related symptoms due to the close relationship between neurovascular structures around it [1]. About 4% of the population has long styloid process more than 3 cm; however, only 4-10.3% of them are symptomatic [2]. In this article we report a case of an asymptomatic ES with a general literature review, clinical and radiological findings.

Ortner’s Syndrome-A Rare Cause of Hoarseness: Its Importance to an Otorhinolaryngologist
Introduction: Cardiovocal hoarseness (Ortner’s syndrome) is hoarseness of voice due to recurrent laryngeal nerve involvement secondary to cardiovascular disease. Recurrent laryngeal nerve in its course (especially the left side) follows a path that brings it in close proximity to numerous structures. These structures interfere with its function by pressure or by disruption of the nerve caused b...

BACKGROUND AND AIM: This study was performed to evaluate and compare the calcification patterns of the stylohyoid ligament in Eagle’s syndrome (ES) patients, and asymptomatic patients with elongated styloid process (SP) via cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).METHODS: A total of 52 CBCT images in two symptomatic (ES) and asymptomatic groups (n = 26 per group) were assessed. The mean length an...

Introduction: Metastatic tumors of the temporal bone are extremely rare. Collet-Sicard syndrome is an uncommon condition characterized by unilateral palsy of the lower four cranial nerves. The clinical features of temporal bone metastasis are nonspecific and mimic infections such as chronic otitis media and mastoiditis. Case Report: This report describes a rare case of metastatic adenocarcino...
متن کاملThe Detection of Eagle’s Syndrome with Three-dimensional Multidetector Computerized Tomography (ct)
Objective: Eagle’s Syndrome is caused by elongation of the styloid process or ossification of the stylohyoid ligament. We aimed to evaluate the contribution of 3-Dimensional Multidetector CT findings on Eagle’s syndrome. Methodology: Three-Dimensional Multidetector CT were performed on 13 patients with Eagle’s syndrome. Maximum intensity projection (MIP) and volume rendering (VR) images having ...
